                     ||अथ रामाष्टकम् ||
सुग्रीवमित्रं  परमं पवित्रं   सीताकलत्रं  नवमेघगात्रम् |
कारुण्य पात्रं  शतपत्रनेत्रं   श्रीरामचन्द्रं  सततं नमामि ||१||
संसारसारं  निगमं प्रचारं   धर्मावतारं  हत भूमि भारम् |
सदा निर्विकारं  सुख सिन्धुसारं   श्रीरामचन्द्रं  सततं नमामि ||२||
लक्ष्मी विलासं  जगतां  निवासं   भूदेव वासं  सुख सिन्धु हासम् |
लङ्का विनाशं  भवनं प्रकाशं   श्रीरामचन्द्रं  सततं नमामि ||३||
मंदारमालं  वचने रसालं   गुणयं विशलं  हत सप्ततालम् |
क्रव्यादकालं  सुरलोकपालं   श्रीरामचन्द्रं  सततं नमामि ||४||
वेदांत ज्ञानं  सकल सतानं   हंतारमानं  त्रिदशं प्रधानम् |
गजेन्द्रपालं  विगता विशालं   श्रीरामचन्द्रं  सततं नमामि ||५||
खेलाऽतिभीतं  स्वजने पुनीतं   स्यामो प्रगीतं  वचने अहीतम् |
रागेनगीतं  वचने अहीतं   श्रीरामचन्द्रं  सततं नमामि ||६||
लीलाशरीरं  रणरङ्ग धीरं   विश्वै कवीरं  रघुवंशधारम् |
गम्भीरनादं  जितसर्ववादं   श्रीरामचन्द्रं  सततं नमामि ||७||
श्यामाभिरामं  नयनाभिरामं   गुणाभिरामं  वचनाभिरामं |
विश्वप्रणामं  कतभक्तिकामं   श्रीरामचन्द्रं  सततं नमामि ||८||
                    ||इति रामाष्टकं सम्पूर्णम् ||

dashes the relative pause | The beauty of this aShTakaM
is revealed in its more subtle forms when
chanted slowly | It maybe upendravajra or upajAti etc.

आदौ राम तपोवनादि गमनं   हत्वा मृगं काञ्चनम् |
वैदेही हरणं जटायु मरणं   सुग्रीव सम्भाषणम् ||
वाली निर्दलनं समुद्र तरणं  लङ्कापुरी दाहनम् |
पश्चाद् रावण कुंभकर्ण हननं   चेतद्धि रामायणम् ||
