Composed By Prof. N.V. Deviprasad Translation: P.R. Kannan
1. I worship Shri Jayendra, supreme among Gurus, whose forehead
glows with lines of Bhasma (Vibhuti); whose saffron apparel
shines like the Sun at dawn; who is Chandra with pleasing
speech of nectar, bathed in with gentle smile.
2. I worship Shri Jayendra, supreme among Yatis (Sanyasis),
who, by his very look of shower of nectar of great compassion,
protects devotees, roasted in misery, prostrating to him;
who removes their endless ignorance (and grief) completely.
3. I worship with all my heart Shri Jayendra, supreme among Munis
(sages), who took birth in the holy Agrahara in “Tamohari”
(Irulneekki, dispeller of darkness) village, and dispels
the darkness of ignorance of multitude of disciples; who,
appropriate to his name, is ever accompanied by Jayashri
(Lakshmi of Victory).
4. I worship Shri Jayendra, the Guru, supreme among
self-controlled, who awakens (to knowledge) people in slumber
(of ignorance) for their wellbeing; who wishes all comfort
even for the poorest; who makes people unwearied (in their
efforts at spiritual advancement).
5. I worship Shri Jayendra, the Moon for the ocean of Awareness,
who is seated in the Sarvagnapitha, celebrated in ancient
works, in the city of Kanchi, which resembles the beautiful
᳚Kanchi᳚ (waistband) of earth; who protects the entire
earth with his radiance.
One, who reads with devotion this Jayastotra, embellished with
five gems of stanzas, meditating with faith on the Sadguru
with all his heart, will always be victorious by the grace of
Shri Jayendra.
We worship Shri Jayendra, who is drowned in the very sweet
essence of honey pouring out from the lotus feet of Shri
Chandrasekhara Yatindra; and who is engaged in propagating
the Vedic path and Sanatana Dharma of Bharat and patriotism.
Thus ends hymn (five gems) to Shri Jayendrasaraswati composed
by (Prof N.V.) Deviprasad.
