"Rajko Jerama" Subject: Re: Devanagari convertor Date: Thu, 18 Dec 2003 Namaste 1. Originally the program was built for Win98 (on my home computer), and it was functioning very well. I finished programing job a bit in a hurry, because I was intented to go abroad (to Maharishi's ashram in Holland). There I tested the program on Win XP and some strange results occured. I tried to solve those strange errors (probably caused due to WIN XP operating system) which are difficult to explain, because there was no logic behind them. So finally I managed to remove most of them. I even tried to use VB 6.0 in spite of VB 3.0 just to adjust my original program to WIN XP environment, but there was no great difference in proper functioning of the convertor. Then I uploaded modified version adjusted to VB 6.0 to: users.volja.net/iskanje/devasans/ and modified version made by VB 3.0 to: users.volja.net/iskanje/sansdeva/ Let me sum up: When you UNZIP sans.exe from both sites, all files execpt main file are the same in both cases. on devasans the main file is named: Sandev9.exe (made by VB 6.0; size 800K, because VB60.dll is already built in ) on sansdeva the main file is named: Sandev8.exe (made by VB 3.0; size 295; VB30.dll is separate ) My faultless version for WIN98 was replaced by those two for XP. So I've attached the missing main file named Sandev7.exe to this email (copy it to c:\sansdeva\ or where your other convertor files are). I am sure everything will be OK now. 2. Do you need example files at all? All you need is to paste or type text in the proper text box and to set the correct switches, that is fonts (if you use those six fonts the convertor was made for.) If you use any other fonts (but you are not; you use Sanskrit99 and URW Palladio), you should look closer to files sansdeva.cod devasans.cod sansdeva.mmy and find the logic of these code tables. 3. I'm a TM teacher. Right now I'm focused to join Purusha program as soon as possible. 4. As I've mentioned earlier the software for Covertor was made by Visual Basic. 5. The code will be available, but it is a question how someone else will become familiar with my programing procedures. But my assistance is also available. I hope that the program is already developed enough to satisfy user's needs. 6. I've seen http://sanskrit.safire.com/ It's a wonderful and very useful page. I like it. 7. I don't understand what did you mean by "are there links of examples where these fonts are used in display". Whose examples? Mine? By the way, where are you from. I know India very well, since I was there two times for 6 months. Are you also familiar with TM and Maharishi? From whom did you find the information about my convertor tool? have a nice time regards Rajko Jerama, governor of the age of enlightenment (TM teacher) Jai Guru Dev all glory to Master Thanks Maharishi-ji ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sanskrit Team_member" Date: Mon, 15 Dec 2003 23:59:02 -0700 To: "Rajko Jerama" Subject: Re: Devanagari convertor > Rajko, > > I tried the program again. > > On Win2000 it worked better than Win98, where it crashed. > > You have spent lot of time building it. > > You need to give more example files since I am not sure how to build input. > > What is the difference between sansdeva and devasans? > > The exit window is interesting with Maharshiji's pictures? In last few years I came across with many helpful tools for Devanagari script, also translators from ITrans to Devanagari.
