In other words, the deity invoked is Guru-tattva or the spiritual principle represented by Nikhileshwaranand, not merely the historical person Narayan Dutt Shrimali. The text repeatedly invokes protective forms such as Siddheshvara, Kameshvara, Vagisha, Narayana, and others as aspects of that Guru principle.
