sampUrNam | ## Note : Brahmlekhini deity belongs to the Urdhvamnaya tradition of Tantra. Her name has different meanings. In general, she is the Brahma-Shakti who writes or reveals divine knowledge. She is regarded as the Samvit Shakti, the power of consciousness and knowledge, of Parakrishna. Krishna has many Shaktis, such as Hladini, Samvit, Sandhini, and others. Most people know Radha as the Hladini Shakti. Brahmlekhini is the Samvit Shakti of Krishna. She is a divine Shakti and not simply a wife of Krishna. She is not lesser than Krishna. Brahmlekhini is also known as Parabrahma Shakti. In Tantra, she is identified with the original Kaushiki or Mahasaraswati. She is a very secret and mystical deity, similar to Goddess Kubjika and Shrijika who are forbidden goddess. Brahmlekhini is the highest Lekhini Devi. The verse numbers for the trishati arranged with one-two line verses to 84 relates to birth-cycles through 84 lakSha yonis. Brahmlekhini Sadhana helps one overcome that cycle. The Trishati is not just a simple hymn. Its traditional practice includes things such as Avarana Puja, Kulluka, Setu, Choramantra, and other ritual elements. For most devotees, a Sahasranama is a more suitable and complete form of worship. The Gayatri Mantra should be chanted at least ten times before reciting the Gayatri Trishati. However, this is required only at the beginning and not every time thereafter. The Gayatri Trishati is similar to other Trishatis, such as the Lalita Trishati and the Bhuvaneshwari Trishati. Like them, it traditionally requires initiation. However, those who are already engaged in the regular sadhanas and chanting practices mentioned above do not need a separate initiation for it. Traditionally, a person is expected to receive initiation into Gayatri or Lekhinishwari Vidya before reciting the Trishati. In the same way, initiation into the Panchadashi Mantra is usually required before reciting the Lalita Trishati, and initiation into the Maya Bija is connected with the Bhuvaneshwari Trishati. However, people who have undergone Upanayan Sanskar or have a proper spiritual foundation through Ganapati Sadhana may still recite it respectfully. It is better to follow these practices seriously. If someone regularly recites different Sahasranamas and is sincerely engaged in spiritual practice, then performing a separate Ganapati Sadhana is not absolutely necessary for This Trishati. In my opinion, however, anyone who is involved in spiritual practice or is about to begin any form of Sadhana should perform some form of Ganapati Sadhana. This may be through a Stotra, a Mantra, a Sahasranama, or even the Ganapati Chalisa. For a Stotra, the traditional rule is that it should be recited at least one thousand times as a Purashcharana. The same guideline generally applies to a Sahasranama, although some Sahasranamas prescribe a Purashcharana of only one hundred recitations. Alternatively, one may undertake the Ganapati Atharvashirsha Sadhana. A simple practice may also be performed using the mantra "Vakratundaya Hum" or "Gam Ganapataye Namah," together with the appropriate procedure for worship. Ganapati Sadhana can generally be performed without a Guru. A Guru becomes necessary for advanced forms of worship that involve specialized ritual procedures, strict observances, Yantras, and transmission through a Guru Parampara. For general devotional or spiritual purposes, formal initiation is not required. However, a Guru is essential for intensive and esoteric forms of Ganapati Sadhana, such as the worship of Ucchishta Ganapati, Rakta Ganapati, and similar traditions.
