\section{Introduction}
This stotra of Hanuman is written by Shri Vasudevananda Saraswati, who is famous as ``Tembe Swami''.

This is a Mantra garbhita stotra which means that each line of this stotra starts with one letter of a Mantra. If we read the first letter of every line we get the whole Mantra as follows.
               ##OM namo bhagavate A~njaneyAya mahAbalAya svAhA |##

Mantra garbhita stotras are very powerful in their working and yield immediate results. And this stotra is no exception. It is tried and tested.

The meaning of each verse is attempted here along with the source word in the verses in brackets. (The verb is missing in most of the slokas which is supplied in the meaning to complete the sentence.)

The benefit of reading this stotra is declared to be twofold- one is there shall never be any loss to him, and then one shall be successful in everything that he does.

## Om, Namaskara (##OM namo ##) to the son of the wind (##vAyuputrAya##), feirce formed (##bhImarUpAya##) and the wise learned one (##dhImate##). Namaskara to the messenger of Rama (##rAmadUtAya ##), the one taking any form at will (##kAmarUpAya##), glorious (##shrImate##)

             bhagnAshokavanAyAstu dagdhala~NkAya vAgmine || 2||
## For the one who removes (##vinAshAya##) delusion (##moha##) misery (##shoka##), for the one who is the destroyer of (##vinAshine##) the agony (##shoka##) of Sita (##sItA##), for the one who ruined the Ashoka forest (##bhagnAshokavanAya##) for the one who burnt down the Lanka (##dagdhala~NkAya##), for the eloquent in speech (##vAgmine##) (my namaskAra (##namaH astu##) ||2||

             gatinirjitavAtAya lakShmaNaprANadAya cha |
             vanaukasAM variShThAya vashine vanavAsine || 3||
## For the one by whom the speed (##gati\-##) of the wind (##\-vAtAya##) conquered (##nirjita\-##), for the one who is life-giver (##-prANadAya##) for Lakshmana (##lakShmaNa\-##), to the one who is the foremost (##variShThAya##) among the forest-dwellers (##vanaukasAM##) to the one who is self-controlled (##vashine##), and to the one who lives in a forest (##vanavAsine##) (I offer my Namaskaras) ||3||

             tattvaj~nAnasudhAsindhunimagnAya mahIyase |
             A~njaneyAya shUrAya sugrIvasachivAya te || 4||
## To the one who is immersed (##\-nimagnAya##) in the ocean of (##sudhAsindhu\-##) the knowledge of the the real nature of the human soul or the material world (##tattvaj~nAna\-##), for the great one (##mahIyase##), to Anjaneya (##A~njaneyAya##), to the valerous one (##shUrAya##), to the minister (##-sachivAya##) of Sugriva (##sugrIva\-##) to you (##te##) (I offer my Namaskaras) ||4||

             janmamR^ityubhayaghnAya sarvakleshaharAya cha |
             nediShThAya pretabhUtapishAchabhayahAriNe || 5||
## For the destroyer of the fear (##\-bhayaghnAya##) of birth (##janma\-##) and death (##mRRityu\-##), to the remover (##-harAya##) of all the (##sarva\-##) difficulties (##klesha\-##), to the nearest one (##nediShThAya##) to the remover (##-bhayahAriNe##) of the fear of free dead souls (##-preta##)  dangerous beings (##-bhUta##) and evil-forces (##-pishAcha##) ||5||

             yAtanAnAshanAyAstu namo markaTarUpiNe |
             yakSharAkShasashArdUlasarpavR^ishchikabhIhR^ite || 6||
## Namaskaras namaH (##astu##) for the one who destroys (##\-nAshanAya##) the torments (##yAtanA\-##), to the monkey-formed one (##markaTarUpiNe##), for the one who removes (##-hRRite##) the fear (##bhI\-##) of Yakshas (##yakSha\-##) demons (##rAkShasa\-##) tigers (##shArdUla\-##) snakes (##sarpa\-##) scorpion (##vRRishchika\-##) ||6||
## 
             mahAbalAya vIrAya chira~njIvina uddhate |
             hAriNe vajradehAya cholla~NghitamahAbdhaye || 7||
## For the very strong one (##mahAbalAya##), for the mighty one (##vIrAya##), for the ever-living one (##chira~njIvine##), for the ever-ready and haughty one (##uddhate##), for the pleasing one or one wearing a garland (##hAriNe##), for the very strong-bodied one (##vajradehAya##), and (##cha##) for the one who crossed (##ulla~Nghita\-##) the great ocean (##mahAbdhaye##) ||7||
## 
             balinAmagragaNyAya namo naH pAhi mArute |
             lAbhado.asi tvamevAshu hanuman rAkShasAntaka |
             yasho jayaM cha me dehi shatrUnnAshaya nAshaya || 8||
## Namaskara (##namo##) to the one who is first counted (##agragaNyAya##) among the strong (##balinAm##). O Hanuman (##mArute##) protect (##pAhi##) us (##naH##). You alone are (##tvam eva asi##) giver of immediate benefit (##Ashu lAbhadaH##). O Hanuman (##hanuman##), the destroyer of demons (##rAkShasAntaka##), Give (##me##) (##dehi##) good name (##yashaH##) and success/victory (##jayaM##). Destroy (##nAshaya##) my (##cha me##) enemies (##shatrUn##) ||8||

             svAshritAnAmabhayadaM ya evaM stauti mArutim |
             hAniH kuto bhavettasya sarvatra vijayI bhavet || 9||
## One who sings this way (##evaM##) in praise of (##stauti##) Maruti (##mArutim##), who is the bestower of security (##abhayadaM##) to those who take his shelter (##svAshritAnAm##), why will (##kuto##) any loss (##hAniH##) be caused to him (##bhavet tasya##)? He will be (##bhavet##) successful (##vijayI##) everywhere (##sarvatra##).
