In yaaga rituals, a special sacrificial bread is prepared by baking of dough of cereals. The preparation of dough involves removing husk from the cereal in a mortar and pestle, grinding it on a grinding stone by another stone and then adding water. The processes seem too trivial until their inner meaning is understood. Grinding is done to insert all types of life forces in gross matter. Vedic texts clarify what is the upper limit of grinding. The purpose of grinding is to convert the gross matter into a state equivalent to an active matter which can germinate in a proper womb. This grinding is done not by stones, but by a special light or power. Grinding work has been assigned to a maid. What is the esoteric meaning of a maid, is yet to be investigated.
