Shripad Laxman Abhyankar (अभ्यंकरकुलोत्पन्नः श्रीपादः)

Shri S.L. Abhyankar is a retired mechanical engineer, based in Mumbai, with a special interest in pumps, valves, and foundary technology. He is an expert, trainer, designer, and Engineering consultant/advisor on Problems related to pumps and valves. He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree (1960-1963) from College of Engineering at Karad, Maharashtra. He is pretty fluent in Marathi (mother-toungue), Gujarati, Kannada, and of course, Sanskrit. Since very young age, his father built-up his interest in Sanskrit and is forever, among many other things, grateful to him for that purpose. He has a large presence online with many Sanskrit related projects for guiding Sanskrit students. This page is prepared to compile his various links and postings in a central location.

• A collection of 147+ सुभाषितानि / श्लोकाः with very detailed analysis by Shripad L. Abhyankar. In the YouTube playlist Learning Sanskrit by verses there are 80+ videos. It is presented in a kind of a षडङ्ग-format for studying any Sanskrit verse by पदच्छेदाः, वाक्यांशशः, विश्लेषणम्, शब्दाभ्यासाः (of course including व्याकरणम्), अन्वयार्थाः something like कल्पः what the basic thought is in the verse, छन्दोऽभ्यासः, स्वाध्यायाः something like ज्योतिष् what light of knowledge one gets from the verse. • Received honorary recognition at the Sringeri Math in the project of Gita Gyan Yagna. Knowing the entire Gita with 700 (701) verses by heart, he participated in the examination and was blessed by then Shankaracharya of the Math. "Under the Scheme of this Yajna, any individual may recite by memory all the 700 verses of the 18 Chapters of the Gita, and obtain a certificate with a reward of Rs.21,000 and be a recipient of the Benign Blessings of the Jagadguru."
