Bhagavad Gītā – Chapter 11 Notes

Krishna now demonstrates his divinity to Arjuna.  Arjuna sees an amazing vision of the entire cosmos, past, present and future (11.15-30).  Trembling with fear he prays to Krishna (11.36-40).  Krishna resumes his human form (11.50).

The chapter finishes with the statement that the universal form of God can’t be seen as the result of Vedic study, nor austerity, nor alms-giving, nor ritual (11.53); it is only through unfailing devotion that a person can know, see and attain union with God (11.54).
