In short, if you are willing to help, do the following
- If this is your first time (or such) using the site, please go through the information in the first time user guide.
- Explore the documents' site little bit more, especially drop-down menus for different categories.
- Browse through the pending wishlist/pending lists 1 and 2. The list, initially through as pending, has become a long encoding wishlist, practical or not.
- With large amount of texts/stotras in the collection of Sanskrit Documents site, it is difficult to identify new items. So we try to avoid duplication of efforts. If you identify any new text/document you want to encode, let us know so we can check. We do not endorse copying texts from other sites without their permission. Also, no translations are allowed without copyright permission.
- Familiarize with the OCR utility site at https://ocr.sanskritdictionary.com. The site allows OCR of any image to get the text (wrapped) and helps in typing efforts. The output neds to be copied, separate, and edited.
- If you prefer to enter the text in your language script and convert to Devanagari, use the conversion sites Sanscript and Aksharamukha or such.
You can send a message about your intention to participate at the email address
sanskrit@cheerful.com
A final note:
As is said, whatever we do is insignificant, considering what others
have done before, but it is important that we do it for the continuity,
and for our mental peace, which matters most!
